A Mosel riesling masterpiece. Weingut Carl Loewen owns 1 hectare of the famous "Erste Lage" Laurentiuslay vineyard. In addition to being steep, this vineyard is also warm, which means that even Mediterranean flora and fauna occur. It is also very old with its partly 100-year old non-grafted, rootless, Riesling sticks. This is made into a jewel of a Riesling, with notes of grapefruit, peach, apricot, mirabelle plum and a slightly salty undertone. The wine has an excellent balance between strength and acidity and a remarkably long, powerful and mineral finish.
