Carl Loewen Alte Reben Riesling is a single variety and mildly developed Riesling white wine from the Carl Loewen winery in Leiwen in Mosel, Germany. The Alte Reben Riesling from one of the most renowned German Riesling wineries has a delicate scent of mirabelle plums, fresh herbs and a hint of cassis. This white wine has a seductive effect and offers the full spectrum of flavors that a Mosel Riesling from vines that are more than 40 years old has to offer. This excellent Riesling white wine goes perfectly with freshwater fish and cold asparagus dishes, but also with white meat and poultry. The grapes for this Mosel white wine are unloaded using the traditional method with the help of natural gravity over the wine press and, after gentle pressing, fermented with the grape's own yeast, the so-called spontaneous fermentation. The fermentation lasted over 100 days, this Carl Loewen white wine is only removed from the yeast shortly before bottling.
